Street Cruise | Show n' Shine

Friday 15th - Betta Home Living Coastal Cruise from Batemans Bay down the coast to Moruya for lunch at the pub on the riverbank
Sat 16th - Sun 17th - Tyre Torque Show n Shine. The highlight of the weekend is 300 cars, bikes, hotrods, rats, customs & trucks of the Rock n Roll era showing off the true style of classic motoring. Wander through Lil Niks Hotrod Alley for these awesome chopped and growling cars from the 30's & 40's
Sat 16th Evening cruise - You've hung out with mates and car enthusiasts all day and now its time to hit the road. Cruise around to see what our region has to offer, and finish up at Nelligens famous Steampacket hotel for a night of motoring entertainment.

FRIDAY 15TH - HEADLINE PERFORMANCE @ BAY SOLDIERS CLUB
Get ready to crank up the excitement on Friday night to kick off Crank It Up 2024.Brace yourself for a night of high-octane rockabilly as two sensational bands take the stage. Headlining the event is none other than "A Band Called Twang," delivering a raw fusion of Americana and rockabilly roots.
Led by frontwoman dynamic Maree, their performance promises to ignite the stage with her raspy vocals and infectious energy. Joining them in lighting up the night is the Smokin Firebirds, led by the sensational Dan Firebird on guitar and lead vocals. Don't miss out on this adrenaline-fueled extravaganza—this event will sell out!

Keep the party going on night two of Crank It Up, where the lineup just keeps getting hotter! After years of anticipation, we're thrilled to announce the arrival of Rusty Pinto, Australia's very own swinging soul rockabilly sensation. With a resume that includes tours across the USA and Europe, Rusty Pinto is set to get Batemans Bay dancing with his hip-swagger performance, showcasing why we've been trying to get Rusty to Crank It Up since 2021. Joining him is the incredible Kid James...the future of rockabilly and rock n roll in Australia. Kid James has been getting a lot of hype in the scene and for good reason.. the kid can play and the kid can sing!

Together, Rusty Pinto and Kid James are at the top of Aussie Rock n Roll music ... dont miss out on this gig as tickets will sell fast.

Apart from 2 amazing bands in the Auditorium at the Soldiers Club, we also have Nic and his HipShots , Australia's freshest raw rockabilly band playing live and free in the lounge. These guys inspire the true form of rockabilly roots of the 50's. He could be a headline in his own right, but he is playing by popular demand for all those who missed out of the auditorium performance.

Depart from under the bridge in Clyde St Batemans Bay at 11am for a cool cruise down the coast for lunch in Moruya 12:00 pm Meeting point is under the bridge on Clyde St.

Learn to Dance Workshops!

During Crank It Up there are 3 opportunities to learn to get your feet moving. Our good friends Daryl and Mandy from Roll the Dice dance school in Adelaide are running the following workshops:
- Learn the Rockabilly Stroll (Solo dance)
- Beginners Rockabilly
- Intermediate Rockabilly
No experience necessary for the Rockabilly Stroll or Beginners Rockabilly workshops

Cruise with Cherry Divine

Who wouldn't want to cruise with the gorgeous Cherry Divine. Book your spot on the Escapade, right next to the main stage, and cruise the afternoon to an acoustic set with Cherry and Rob Flannagan thumping that stand up bass.
The boat will cruise around Batemans Bay and return to the wharf in time to get ready for Ezra Lee and 'Kid' James headline act.

Tyre Torque Show n Shine - Zones

An area dedicated to the  hotrods of the 30’s -50’s era. These cool cars are loud, chromed, and just plain cool. They might be T Buckets, Street rods, Chopped roadster or Rat rods.. Hotrod Alley is proudly sponsored by local hotrod mechanical workshop Lil  Niks Mechanical.

This area is near the main stage and is focussed on those oh-so cool cars of the rock n roll era of the 50’s to early 60’s.

Think Chevy Bel Aire, Cadillac Coupe De Ville,  Ford Thunderbirds, Pontiac Star Chief or Buick Roadmaster. The sort of cars that Elvis would’ve driven or Chuck Berry might cruise down Hollywood Boulevard.

These cars have shape, chrome, wings and whitewalls. Glamour and style to boot.

Early model vehicles which have been restored or remain in original condition. These cars bring back memories of an elegant era and are the true meaning of historic vehicles as they tell their stories of yesteryear.

 

This is a cool zone to hangout with all sorts of chrome bumper cars, classic bikes, old trucks, American muscle and those amazing customs which just draw the crowds.

Hang out with mates, under the bridge where we have the second stage playing music all weekend, car memorabilia displays, food and a dance floor.

This was the favourite of many visitors at last years Crank It Up Show n Shine.
