DANCE WORKSHOPS

Alongside all the live music and social dancing, we’re also bringing you dance workshops to sharpen your moves or learn something new.

On Saturday 21st, Bruce Elder (Swing To It Sydney) and Melinda Jane will be running a series of Rockabilly sessions – Beginners, Intermediate 1, and Intermediate 2 – so dancers of all levels can join in.

Then on Sunday 22nd, the renowned Sydney Swing Katz take the floor with Beginners and Intermediate Lindy Hop workshops, sharing their energy and expertise.

Beginners Rockabilly

Saturday 21st November at 11am - Starfish Function Room

In the Beginners Rockabilly class, you’ll learn the foundations of this fun and social dance style. The class covers the basic footwork, rhythm, and simple turns so you can confidently get out on the floor and enjoy the music. No partner or prior experience is needed – just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to start rocking and rolling!

Intermediate 1 Rockabilly

In the Intermediate Rockabilly class, you’ll build on the basics with new moves, variations, and techniques to add style and flair to your dancing. You’ll learn how to mix steps together smoothly, add spins and turns with confidence, and connect more with your partner. Perfect for dancers who are comfortable with the fundamentals and ready to take their Rockabilly to the next level.

Perfect if you’ve done Intermediate 1 before – or if you just want to pick up some new tricks without stepping up in difficulty.

We’ve got you covered with a series of free dance lessons designed to get you moving and feeling the vibe.

At Crank It Up, you’ll see plenty of Rockabilly dancing, Rock ‘n’ roll partner dancing, and the solo dance the Rockabilly Stroll.

These are quick, easy sessions—perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to loosen up, learn a few moves, and jump straight into the action.

So you dont have a dance partner? Thats ok.
You can still get into the dance vibe with the simple but slick styling of the Rockabilly Stroll. When the slower songs come on, you'll see the dance floor fill with the side-steps of the dancers doing the stroll.

  4. Batemans Bay Soldiers Club (large parquetry dance floor)- Lounge. Alternative to the headline performances at night
